About Me

I was born in Northern Ireland and my background has a huge bearing on my music. I love the social and community effects of musical events and the very best bit is the memories it creates. I have been a musician for more than 25 years, having studied at Trinity College of Music, London.

During my career, I have had the honour of playing in the company of many fine musicians and have built up a sound working relationship with a number of local professional musicians in Cumbria, where I now live.

I launched Music for Life in May 2010 to provide a unique musical service to enhance momentous occasions in your life.

My background in traditional Irish music, combined with a classical training, gave me the confidence to explore many different styles of music and most importantly, the ability to improvise, a skill which makes any request achievable.

Alongside my performing career, I have, through my teaching experience, developed a range of workshops and master classes to not only help develop people’s musical talents but also to improve the quality of life for individuals and communities.

During my alleged free time, I have set up a community choir, Middle Eden Voices, to promote the benefits of singing for well being. It has proved to be very successful and we are going from strength to strength. I get a huge amount of satisfaction from my weekly singing exercise. (See Workshops and Choirs)
